HWY: An American Pastoral -Jim Morrison (1969)

This is Jim Morrison's independent film HWY An American Pastoral starring Himself as The Hitch hiker. An extremely rare video that is out of print and very hard to find. This movie is based along the lines of the song Rider on the Storm. This film is very unique and interesting knowing this film is from the mind of Jim Morrison. Just watching the Great legend be himself in the film is awesome.

The running time of this video is Approximately 51 minutes. This is very old footage the quality of this film is Great. If you are a Jim Morrison and The Doors fanatic like myself, This video would be much appreciated

This is a great peice of the past and captures a moment in Jim's life that may not have being doccumented. I have a strong feeling that Stone had used this as some level of inspiration in make the Doors. The opening scene for sure. Not the best cinematography for a film student, he was a much better musician and master of ceramony. Thanks for posting this online.

It was magic to get to see Jim alive and in movement. Its a shame I wasn't alive to see him in person and meet that amazing poetic person. Jim inspired allot of my own poetry and opened my mind allot (the doors of perception) And what interest me the most is he lived a life, not with answers, but in question, making it much more exciting, not to know what is around the corner, but to be optimistic about discovering.
I was overwhelmed with joy when I ran into this short film, because even though it doesnt really inform you at all, it does feel nice to see things in his eyes. I do like his music much more than his film work too, but Jim in person is so complex, and deep that there isnt a word from his lips that doesnt leave me thinking.
The movie 'The Doors' Was defiantly inspired by parts of this film. Even though throughout the whole thing, no-one finds out what happened in the desert, and its never really explained. I never understood the fact, that his song 'The movie' which says "did you live a good life before you died? Enough to base a movie on?" Was not placed into that movie. Anyways, THANK YOU SO MUCH for posting this film. It was nice to have a taste of his life. I AM THE LIZARD KING! I CAN DO ANYTHING!

It is a classic movie for me, I love the Doors, and Jim was a great singer, he was a crazy dude who rocked the stage.
Excellent review by the way.
